According to NCC report, quoted from the General Department of Aerial and Spatial Surveying and Base Mapping, the dust of April 2022 in Iran, according to the National Headquarters to Combat Dust storms, was because of the formation of dust fronts between Syria and Iraq which first embraced large areas of Syria and Iraq and then entered Iran.
According to the actions taken by NCC of Iran in order to monitor the dust phenomenon in the country, the results gained from the processing of Sentinel 5 satellite product in the interval from 6 to 7 April 2022 indicates the arrival of dust in many western and southwestern provinces of the country on Thursday April 7, 2022 originating from Syria and Iraq.
According to the prepared map on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the source of dust entering the country from Syria can be clearly viewed. While, according to the map prepared from the distribution of fine dust on April 7, and with the movement of fine dust to the northwest of Iraq, some provinces of the country, especially the western and southwestern provinces such as Kermanshah, Urmia and Khuzestan have been strongly affected.
